Streaming platform Netflix to reportedly develop an animated musical based on Lupita Nyong’o’s bestselling book Sulwe. Additionally, acclaimed director Tim Burton has been roped in for a spin-off series based entirely on the iconic character of Wednesday Addams from the supernatural comedy hit The Addams Family.
Sulwe follows the story of a young dark-skinned girl who embarks on a magical journey after she has an encounter with a shooting star. The movie will be produced by Lupita.
The live-action series Wednesday is said to be targeted to young adults and will be Tim Burton’s TV directorial debut. The series will revolve around Wednesday Addams and how she uses her psychic abilities to solve a 25-year-old case that involves her parents.
There’s no release date for either of the projects as of yet but be sure to watch this space for all updates!
